Prize Bingo in Belchford Village Hall

Took place on Sunday 17th August

Thank you to everyone that came along and supported the bingo,  I hope you all enjoyed it and those that didn’t win hopefully better luck next time🤞

Thank you to everyone that helped today it really was very much appreciated how you all mucked in without even having to ask for help 😊 Also a very big thank you to everyone who donated prizes.  Although I did get a little over whelmed with the amount of prizes so I really hope you don’t mind but we did keep a small amount of prizes back in hope it would be a success so we can use them towards doing another bingo.

We raised a total of £723.50 for Belchford Church so thank you again to everyone because without you we couldn’t have done it

Vicki and Janice.

Belchford Tractor Trail 2025

Sunday 6th started with heavy rain but nearly 30 hardy souls (well they are Lincolnshire farmers) turned out in a wonderful range of classic tractors. After a breakfast at Glebe Farm, and a drive over a country trail organised by John Smith all tractors returned to the Village Hall for a hearty lunch and wonderful cakes.

Everyone seemed to have a grand time thanks to the excellent organisation of the event by the church wardens and supporters. Well done to all of you.

Money raised will go towards church roof repairs.

Here are a couple of photographs.  Hopefully more to follow. Click on the photos to open a full size picture.

End of an era

On Sunday 29th June, the Blue Bell closed.

Darren has sold the pub and hopefully new tenants will be taking it over soon.

We had a great afternoon and evening in there on the last day with many villagers and visitors calling in to wish Darren and Sue and all the staff well for the future.

A magnificent cake was baked by Dinah and lovely teatowels with photos of past staff and of some of the regulars printed on.  There is a story about why the teatowels but that is for another day. Jon did a brilliant song to commemorate the occasion which I will try and put on here.

We wish Darren and Sue well in their new endeavours and all the best for the lovely staff who have looked after us so well over the years, especially Flip.

Thank you to Jill and Clare for organising the occasion.

We expect that the Blue Bell will open with new management in the future.

Banovallum Brass Band  in The Church, Belchford

This took place onn Saturday 26th April and we enjoyed a rousing performance by Banovallum Brass in the church. The band played their usual interesting mix of old and new songs, concluding with a sing along to "Bring Me Sunshine". Audience numbers were a bit disappointing and were bolstered by friends and family of band members. However through ticket sales and donations we were able to raise £125 for Macmillan Cancer Support and the same amount for the church.

A big thank you to Bannovallum Brass Band, the organisers and church wardens and all who came and made a lovely evening.

Belchford Tabletop and Garage Sale

Was on Saturday 1st March.

A very pleasant morning spent socialising and trying to sell various

unwanted items some with more success than others.  Regardless of sales, everyone had a great time with plenty of tea and cakes to buy.

Several people around the village had yard sales at the same time and some did very well.

£87.50 was raised for the Village Green.

Well done to James and all who made it happen and to the hard work done in the kitchen and kitchens round the village.

Thank you.

New Year’s Eve in the Blue Bell

Belchford Church Autumn Festival

Took place on Friday 8th November

This was a lovely evening in the Church.  We were treated to performances from students from Queen Elizabeth Grammar School followed by a male voice choir, Octangle.

It was an excellent performance from all the musicians helped along by the lovely atmosphere in the beautifully prepared church.

A big thank you to all the girls from QUEGS and to Octangle and to Marting who organised the evening and of course to Neil and George who made the church so welcoming.

Over £500 was raised for cancer research and for the church..

I will post a video of a couple of the performances as soon as I can.

“ Dance Free “ happened on May 22nd on our community land in Belchford .

Dance Free is a Free-movement dance activity, held at beautiful natural locations and indoors across Lincolnshire.

Loads of villagers danced free at the community woodland on Wednesday 22nd May. All had a great time in spite of the weather dancing to the amazing tunes coming through their headphones.

Dance Free orgainises events all over Lincolnshire so please go the website below to find out what’s on and where: https://www.https://www.wedancefree.com/

Banovallum Brass Band Concert

This marvellous event took place in Belchford Church on the 14th April.

The music filled the church which was a perfect venue for the concert with amazing acoustics.

The Band played a wide range of music, from classical to pop with lots of other genres to entertain us.

This truly wonderful event was staged to raise money for the church and Serendipity, a local charity dedicated to helping people return to work.

A big thank you to all who made it happen and to the excellent Banovallum Brass Band.
